Greetings, dear friends! Today, we’re going to talk about everyone’s favorite topic: money! That’s right, we’re going to learn how to make it rain and afford all the fancy things we see on Instagram and YouTube.
But before we get started, let me ask you a question: Are you tired of living paycheck to paycheck? Do you want to be able to buy the fancy cheese at the grocery store without checking the price tag? Well, my friend, you’re in luck because I’m about to drop some knowledge on you.
So, here’s the deal. We all want to be rich, right? But unfortunately, wishing won’t make it so. However, fear not, because I have a solution for you: the “Rule of Thirds.”
No, it’s not a new fancy diet plan for picky eaters (although it does involve some calculating, so get ready for that). It’s a financial goal-setting technique that will help you achieve financial freedom and finally afford that designer handbag or Saville Row suit you’ve been eyeing.
Here’s how it works. You take all your expenses, and I mean ALL of them, including that daily coffee you buy on your way to work, and you write them down. Then, you multiply that number by three (yes, three, not four or five, we’re not that crazy).
The first third of that number is your current financial standing. The second third is your lifestyle growth, or the amount of money you need to live the life you want (because who wants to settle for less?). And finally, the last third is what you will reinvest in your business (because we all know that you’re a business mogul in the making).
So, if your expenses add up to $4000, your first financial goal should be $12,000. Easy peasy, lemon squeezy! But here’s the catch: you need to keep applying this rule as your business and lifestyle grow. That means continuously setting new financial goals, so you always have something to work towards.
And don’t forget to reward yourself for your efforts. Treat your self to that fancy dinner or that luxurious vacation. You deserve it! And last but not least, reinvest in your business because let’s face it, you’re going to be the next Jeff Bezos, right?.
Now, I know what you’re thinking, “but Steve you haven’t always followed this rule yourself.” And you’re absolutely right. But hey, we’re all a work in progress, right? So, learn from my mistakes and be better than me.
